Blue Deal and Fluid Crew

Last Monday we participated at the Water Resilience Forum in Brussels promoting our Flemish Blue Deal. The Blue Deal aims to protect Flanders against the consequences of climate change. Drought, flooding and good water quality are becoming increasingly challenging issues. The Blue Deal plan focuses on an integrated approach driven by local cooperation. With this approach in mind, we continuously search for European partners to collab on European funded projects.

We shared a stand with VITO, the European research centre. VITO turns scientific insights into ground-breaking technological innovations, AI solutions and policy advice in Flanders. VITO is the founder of the Fluid Crew, a group of Flemish water companies and organizations, operating in the public and private domain. A fluid workforce teaming up with you to solve water problems with a unique offer: water solutions with a Flemish twist.

About the Water Resilience Forum

The forum was organised by the European Commission in collaboration with the Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the Committee of the Regions (CoR), with the participation of Commissioner for the Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, Jessika Roswall, the President of the CoR, Kata Tüttő, and the President of the EESC, Séamus Boland.

Europe is facing increasing water scarcity, water quality degradation, and climate-related threats to both human well-being and economic competitiveness. The forum tackled these challenges head-on through dedicated sessions on financing innovative water solutions, strengthening industrial competitiveness through water resilience, and scaling water efficiency from local to global action.

The forum addressed urban water challenges, digital transformation opportunities, and upskilling initiatives essential for building the water-secure Europe envisioned by 2050. Each session brought together key stakeholders to identify concrete pathways for accelerating implementation and fostering the coordinated action needed to achieve water security for all.
